42CAP is a Munich-based venture capital firm founded in 2016 by Alex Meyer and Thomas Wilke, who previously co-founded eCircle, one of Europe's largest marketing technology companies, sold to Teradata in 2012. The firm's general partner team also includes Moritz Zimmermann, co-founder of Hybris, Europe's first SaaS unicorn, acquired by SAP in 2013, and Julian von Fischer. Drawing on this operating background, 42CAP invests €0.5 million to €3 million in seed-stage, data- and technology-driven B2B software companies across Europe, with particular focus on SaaS, AI and machine learning applications, and advanced analytics. The firm is now managing its fourth fund generation, having raised approximately €50 million in its most recent close, bringing total assets under management to roughly €70 million. 42CAP has completed between 69 and 79 investments since inception and counts the European Investment Fund, KfW Capital, and London-based Isomer Capital among its institutional backers. The firm positions itself as an 'Entrepreneurs First' investor, emphasizing hands-on operational support drawn from its partners' own experience scaling software companies internationally. Beyond its original investments in Personio, Taxdoo, and Usercentrics, the firm's broader portfolio includes Adverity, Kaia Health, Packlink, Scoutbee, Qdrant, Katana, CodeSphere, OnTruck, GridRaven, and Customs4Trade, spanning marketing analytics, digital health, vector databases, and supply chain software.
