7wireVentures is a Chicago-based digital health venture capital firm founded in 2011 by serial healthcare entrepreneurs Glen Tullman and Lee Shapiro, who together built Livongo Health into one of the most successful digital health companies in history. The firm invests in early-stage companies that advance what it calls the Informed Connected Health Consumer: the convergence of consumer expectations and technology that the partners believe will fundamentally reshape healthcare delivery. 7wire focuses on seed through Series B investments, with a particular emphasis on companies building technology-enabled solutions in chronic condition management, behavioral health, women's health, and consumer-directed care. The firm's partners are operators first: Tullman served as CEO of Livongo and Allscripts, and Shapiro served as CFO of Livongo, with partners Robert Garber and Alyssa Jaffee adding decades of additional healthcare operating experience. In October 2023, 7wire launched its $217 million Growth and Opportunity Fund, its largest to date, bringing total assets under management to over $500 million and expanding its mandate to include later-stage Series B and C investments. The firm has backed 40 to 45 companies and built a strategic coalition of more than a dozen health systems, payers, and life science organizations as limited partners, enabling portfolio companies to access commercial partnerships. The landmark exit is Livongo, acquired by Teladoc Health in 2020 for $18.5 billion. Beyond its original investments in Bind, Conversa Health, Hims and Hers, and Infermedica, the firm's portfolio includes NOCD, FOLX Health, Parsley Health, Brightline, HomeThrive, Zerigo Health, Jasper Health, Override Health, Transcarent, and WellTheory.
