About

AAIC Investment

AAIC Investment (Asia Africa Investment and Consulting) is a Singapore-headquartered impact venture capital firm founded in 2013, with operational offices in Nairobi (Kenya), Cairo (Egypt), and Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam). The firm has a distinct mandate rooted in bridging Japanese institutional capital and healthcare industry expertise with Africa's rapidly growing health economy. AAIC operates two dedicated Africa-focused funds: the Africa Healthcare Fund 1 (AHF1), launched in 2017, and the Africa Healthcare and Innovation Fund (AHF2), launched in 2022, with combined fund size reaching approximately $87 million. Across both funds, AAIC has invested in 45 companies focused on digital health, diagnostics, pharmacy infrastructure, insurtech, mobility, and adjacent sectors. The firm typically invests at Series A to growth stage across sub-Saharan Africa and MENA, and actively facilitates connections between portfolio companies and Japanese corporate partners as a source of both funding and commercial expansion. Five AAIC portfolio companies were recognised by Time magazine as among the world's top 100 HealthTech companies in 2025, and three were included in the Financial Times list of Africa's fastest-growing companies in 2025. Data note: the original directory entry lists Cellulant, DPO Group, and Craft Silicon as portfolio companies. These are not AAIC portfolio companies; they are separate African technology businesses. The sector focus listed ('Fintech, Enterprise, Consumer') is also incorrect. Verified AAIC portfolio companies include Helium Health, Gozem, Lami, Africa Healthcare Network, Rology, Revital Healthcare, DeepEcho, Ilara Health, Lapaire, Aumet, LifeQ, and LifeBank.
