Accel Europe is the London-based European and Israeli investment practice of Accel, established in 2000 as the firm expanded its global footprint beyond Palo Alto. Operating from London with a dedicated European partnership team, Accel Europe invests at seed through growth stage in enterprise software, consumer internet, fintech, and gaming companies across the United Kingdom, Europe, and Israel, with initial checks typically ranging from $2 million to $15 million. In May 2024, the practice raised a $650 million fund explicitly focused on artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, one of the largest European-focused early-stage VC fund closings of that period. Accel Europe has produced some of the most significant exits in the European technology ecosystem, including Spotify, which completed a $26.5 billion NYSE direct listing in 2018 and remains one of the most successful European technology IPOs in history; Supercell, the Finnish mobile games studio acquired by Tencent for $8.6 billion in 2016; and Deliveroo, which completed a London Stock Exchange IPO in 2021. The practice also backed UiPath before its $29 billion Nasdaq IPO and was an early investor in Wise (formerly TransferWise), the global money transfer platform, and Celonis, the enterprise process mining leader. Accel Europe has partnered with some of the most prominent startup ecosystems in Europe, including those in Sweden, Finland, Germany, France, and the United Kingdom. Beyond its listed portfolio investments in Spotify, Supercell, UiPath, Deliveroo, Slack, and Monzo, the firm's broader European portfolio includes Wise, Celonis, Funding Circle, BlaBlaCar, Algolia, and Kry.
