Acre Venture Partners is a Santa Monica-based venture capital firm founded in 2016, originally launched as the venture arm of Campbell Soup Company before transitioning to fully institutional ownership. The firm invests in companies creating fundamental change across the food and agriculture value chain to address large-scale challenges in human and environmental health, with a philosophy it describes as 'venture as a service.' Acre manages more than $300 million across three funds, including a $125 million inaugural fund and a $140 million Fund III that closed in March 2024. The firm's team combines operators, entrepreneurs, former policy leaders including Sam Kass, the White House Food Policy Advisor under President Obama, and sustainability experts with deep food and agriculture experience. Acre invests from seed through Series B, both leading and co-leading rounds, across four core domains: population health (nutrition, wellness, food safety), planetary wellbeing (climate, soil health, sustainable agriculture), responsible production and consumption, and climate solutions. The portfolio includes two unicorns in Farmers Business Network (FBN) and Inari, and three acquisitions. Beyond its original investments in Apeel Sciences, Good Catch, Miyoko's, and The Every Company, the firm's broader portfolio includes Inari, Meati Foods, Spoiler Alert, Bonsai Robotics, Loam Bio, Zucca, Terradot, Ascribe Bioscience, and Switch Bioworks, spanning seed breeding, fungi-based proteins, food waste reduction, and agricultural robotics.
