Amadeus Capital Partners is a London and Cambridge-based deep technology venture capital firm founded in 1997 by Anne Glover and Hermann Hauser, co-founder of ARM Holdings and a pioneer of the UK semiconductor industry. The firm has raised more than $1.3 billion across multiple funds and invested in more than 190 companies, achieving more than 90 exits and 17 IPOs over its 28-year history. Amadeus backs early-stage companies commercialising breakthrough intellectual property originating from the UK's Golden Triangle of universities spanning London, Oxford, and Cambridge, as well as from national research laboratories and corporate spinouts. The firm invests across three primary domains: artificial intelligence, machine learning, and quantum computing; human-centric technologies in digital health and biotech; and sustainability technologies in climate science and materials. Amadeus operates several fund vehicles, most recently a £110 million Amadeus V Technology Fund anchored by British Patient Capital and an €80 million joint fund with Austria's APEX Ventures. Notable exits include Solexa, a genomic sequencing company acquired by Illumina in 2007, CSR, which completed an IPO in 2004, VocalIQ, a spoken dialogue AI company acquired by Apple in 2014 to improve Siri, and Icera, acquired by NVIDIA in 2011. More recent exits include Ravelin, an AI fraud prevention platform acquired by Worldpay in 2025. Note: the original directory lists Costain and LOVEFiLM as portfolio companies; neither is confirmed as an Amadeus investment from public sources. The verified portfolio includes Oxford Nanopore, Graphcore, Improbable, FiveAI (acquired by Bosch), and Tobii.
