Andera Partners is a Paris-based independent private equity and venture capital platform founded in 2001 as Edmond de Rothschild Investment Partners before becoming fully team-owned and rebranding in 2018. The firm manages more than €3.6 billion in assets across several distinct strategies: Andera Life Sciences (the BioDiscovery fund series, approximately €1.1 billion in committed capital), Andera MidCap (mid-cap buyout), Andera Expansion and Croissance (growth equity and minority stakes), Andera Acto (sponsorless private debt), and Andera Infra (ecological transition infrastructure). For the Pitchwise investor directory, the firm is primarily relevant through its Andera Life Sciences arm, which invests at Series A and Series B stages in biopharmaceutical and medical technology companies in Europe and the United States, with check sizes typically from €5 million to €35 million. The BioDiscovery funds have invested in more than 110 life sciences companies since inception, and the 15-person team combines scientific, entrepreneurial, and financial expertise. Recent high-profile transactions include leading a $160 million Series A for Alveus Pharma, a GIP and GLP-1 obesity drug developer, in January 2026, and a $67 million Series A for Spiro Medical, a neuromodulation system for asthma. The fund has generated numerous exits including Axonics (Nasdaq IPO), Mineralys (IPO), Amolyt (acquisition), Abivax (IPO), and Tubulis, which completed a €344 million Series C. Beyond its original investments in Abeome, Cardior, Coave, and InVivo Therapeutics, the portfolio includes Tubulis, Adcytherix, Artios, and Spiro Medical.
