Amplify Partners is a Menlo Park-based early-stage venture capital firm founded in 2012 by Lenny Pruss and Mike Dauber, alongside Sarah Catanzaro and Sunil Dhaliwal, built on the conviction that the most transformational technology companies of the coming decades would be built by deeply technical founders: engineers, researchers, and scientists with visceral experience of the problems they are solving. The firm has remained consistent to this thesis since founding, positioning itself as the first institutional investor for technical founders across developer tools, artificial intelligence, data infrastructure, and cybersecurity. Amplify manages more than $2 billion across six funds and typically leads or co-leads rounds from pre-seed through Series A, writing first checks from $500,000 to $10 million. The firm offers portfolio companies access to a Build Team, a group of former operators in sales, marketing, and recruiting from technical companies who help founders navigate commercial scaling before they need to hire those roles permanently. Amplify was the first institutional investor in Datadog and Fastly, both of which completed New York Stock Exchange IPOs and rank among the defining technical infrastructure investments of the 2010s. A second generation of bets includes dbt Labs, Temporal, Chainguard, and Runway, and a third generation spanning Modal, Luma AI, LangChain, and Dagster reflects consistent early positioning across successive waves of developer infrastructure. Beyond its original investments in Datadog, Fastly, dbt Labs, Temporal, and Chainguard, the broader portfolio includes Runway, Modal, Hex, Hightouch, Dagster, and LangChain.
