About

Angel Ventures Mexico

The Angel CoFund, now branded as ACF Investors, is a London and Sheffield-based venture capital fund established in 2011 with initial backing from the UK government's Regional Growth Fund and subsequently managed within the British Business Bank ecosystem. It is the UK's largest co-investment fund operating exclusively alongside business angel syndicates, having deployed more than £40 million alongside over £200 million from angels and other investors into more than 80 companies across England since its launch. The fund's investment model is structurally distinct from most venture firms: it does not independently source, lead, or price transactions. Instead, it co-invests alongside syndicates of at least three sector-experienced business angels, with a minimum lead angel commitment, effectively multiplying the impact of active angel networks across the country. This structure means founders cannot approach the Angel CoFund directly; they must first secure the interest of an eligible business angel syndicate, which then brings the fund in as a co-investor alongside their capital. Initial equity investments range from £100,000 to £1 million per round, with the fund capped at 49% of any single round and 30% of equity in any company. Every £1 deployed by the Angel CoFund has historically leveraged approximately £5 from business angel syndicates, according to the British Business Bank. The fund is sector-agnostic and has backed companies across life sciences, clean technology, advanced materials, enterprise software, and consumer products across England. Notable portfolio exits include Ebury (fintech, partially acquired by Santander), Limejump (clean energy, acquired by Shell), and City Pantry (foodtech, acquired by Just Eat).
