Cherry Ventures is a Berlin-based early-stage venture capital firm founded in 2012 by Filip Dames and a team of entrepreneurs who built careers scaling technology companies including Zalando and Spotify, dedicated to backing Europe's boldest founders as their first institutional investor across pre-seed, seed, and Series A stages. The firm's founding team brings direct operator experience from two of the most consequential European technology companies of the 2000s and 2010s. Cherry operates with offices in Berlin, London, and Stockholm and invests with checks from EUR 1 million to EUR 5 million. The firm has backed more than 160 companies with 8 unicorns, 3 IPOs, and 23 acquisitions in its portfolio history. Cherry also operates the Copilot programme, providing executive coaching to all new portfolio founders. Portfolio companies include FlixBus, the intercity bus network; Auto1 Group, which completed a Frankfurt Stock Exchange IPO valuing the company at over $9 billion; Flink, the rapid grocery delivery platform; Forto, the digital freight forwarding platform; Flaschenpost, acquired by Dr. Oetker; Juni, the financial management platform for e-commerce companies; and Taxfix. Beyond its original investments in FlixBus, Auto1, Trade Republic, and Forto, the portfolio includes dozens of active European companies.
