About

Chevron Technology Ventures

Chevron Technology Ventures is the corporate venture capital arm of Chevron, one of the world's largest integrated energy companies, established to invest in technology startups developing innovations that can help Chevron and the broader energy sector transition to lower-carbon operations and address the energy trilemma of affordability, reliability, and sustainability. The unit invests at Series A and Series B stages with initial checks from $2 million to $15 million in companies where Chevron's operational scale, customer relationships, and technical expertise can provide meaningful strategic value. The focus spans energy transition technology sectors including geothermal energy, carbon capture and utilization, hydrogen production, renewable fuels, advanced materials, and digital transformation technologies for the energy industry. The corporate venture model gives portfolio companies access to Chevron's operational facilities, engineering expertise, and global supply chain as pilot partners. Portfolio companies include Fervo Energy, the enhanced geothermal systems company developing next-generation geothermal power plants; and Momentus, the space transport and infrastructure company. Note: Oxy Low Carbon Ventures is a subsidiary of Occidental Petroleum, not a startup, and appears to be a data error. Beyond its original investments, the portfolio includes additional energy transition companies.
