Equinor Ventures is the corporate venture capital arm of Equinor, the Norwegian state-controlled energy company, established to invest in early and growth-stage technology companies developing innovations that support the energy transition, improve the efficiency and safety of energy operations, and enable Equinor's strategic shift toward renewable energy and low-carbon operations. The firm invests at Series A and Series B stages with initial checks from $2 million to $15 million in companies whose technologies are relevant to Equinor's business priorities across offshore energy, carbon capture and storage, hydrogen, offshore wind, and sustainable energy infrastructure. Portfolio companies include Beyonder, a Norwegian company developing calcium-ion battery chemistry as an alternative to lithium for stationary energy storage; Corvus Energy, the Norwegian maritime battery and energy storage systems company providing solutions for hybrid and all-electric ships; Heimdall Power, the Norwegian company using drone-based sensors and AI to monitor power grid capacity and enable greater renewable energy integration; and Jova, an energy technology company. Beyond its original investments, the portfolio includes additional energy transition technology companies.
