FJ Labs is a New York-based seed venture capital firm and angel investing vehicle founded by Fabrice Grinda, one of the most prolific and active marketplace investors in technology, with a singular and unconditional focus on marketplace businesses. Grinda co-founded OLX, one of the largest classifieds and marketplace platforms in the world, and launched FJ Labs in 2015 to invest systematically in marketplace businesses globally. The firm has made more than 1,000 investments, making it one of the highest-volume venture investment vehicles in existence, with a portfolio spanning marketplaces in consumer goods, financial services, real estate, labor, food, transportation, and dozens of other categories. FJ Labs typically invests with initial checks from $250,000 to $2 million at seed and Series A stages. Portfolio companies include Jumia, the African e-commerce marketplace that completed a NYSE IPO in 2019; Rappi, the Colombian on-demand delivery and super-app; and hundreds of additional marketplace businesses globally. Beyond its original investments in Jumia and Rappi, the portfolio spans more than 1,000 marketplace investments.
