Forerunner Ventures is a San Francisco-based seed and Series A venture capital firm founded by Kirsten Green, focused on consumer technology and direct-to-consumer brands, widely recognised as one of the most insightful and consistently successful early-stage investors in consumer internet, e-commerce, and lifestyle brands since its founding in 2011. Green built Forerunner from the conviction that the brands and platforms capturing the next generation of consumer spending would be built by founders who deeply understood how consumer behavior was changing in response to mobile internet, social media, and the shift to direct relationships between brands and their customers. The firm invests with initial checks from $1 million to $10 million. Glossier was a Forerunner investment from its earliest rounds. Warby Parker completed a NYSE IPO in 2021. Chime is a portfolio company. Hims (Hims & Hers Health) completed a NYSE listing in 2021. Beyond its original investments in Glossier, Warby Parker, and Chime, the portfolio includes Ritual, Oura, The Farmer's Dog, and additional consumer technology and lifestyle brands.
