Foundry Group

Foundry Group is a Boulder, Colorado-based venture capital firm founded in 2006 by Brad Feld, Jason Mendelson, Ryan McIntyre, and Seth Levine, one of the most highly respected and intellectually distinctive early-stage venture capital firms in the United States. The firm invests at seed through Series B stages with initial checks from $2 million to $10 million, and is famous for the depth of intellectual engagement its partners have with the venture capital and startup community through writing, speaking, and community building. Fitbit, the wearable fitness tracker company, was acquired by Google for $2.1 billion in 2021. Zynga completed a Nasdaq IPO in 2011. SendGrid was acquired by Twilio for $3 billion in 2019. MakerBot was acquired by Stratasys for $403 million in 2013. Harmonix, the music game developer, is a portfolio company. Beyond its original investments in Fitbit, Zynga, SendGrid, MakerBot, and Harmonix, the portfolio includes Duo Security (acquired by Cisco), Techstars, and dozens of additional technology companies.
