Generation Investment Management is a London-based sustainable investment firm founded in 2004 by Al Gore, the former US Vice President and Nobel Peace Prize laureate, and David Blood, the former CEO of Goldman Sachs Asset Management, and is one of the most respected long-term sustainability-oriented investment managers in the world, managing more than $35 billion in assets across public equity, private equity, and climate solutions strategies. Generation's private equity activities focus on growth equity investments in companies developing solutions to sustainability challenges across food and agriculture, energy transition, health, and financial inclusion, with initial checks from $10 million to $100 million. Impossible Foods, the plant-based meat company, received Generation investment. Oatly, the Swedish oat milk company, was backed by Generation before completing a Nasdaq IPO in 2021. Vestas Wind Systems and Vestel are portfolio investments. Beyond its original investments in Impossible Foods, Oatly, Vestas, and Vestel, the broader portfolio spans sustainable food, clean energy, and long-term growth equity investments globally.
