Hoxton Ventures is a London-based seed and Series A venture capital firm founded by Hussein Kanji and Rob Kniaz, focused on backing European technology companies at the earliest institutional stages across all sectors, with a particular strength in identifying companies that will achieve global scale from a European base. The firm was founded with the conviction that European founders are systematically undervalued by investors who do not believe European companies can achieve US-equivalent scale, and that the most significant returns will come from early conviction in exactly these kinds of contrarian bets. Hoxton invests with initial checks from $500,000 to $3 million and takes an active, hands-on role in portfolio company development, working closely with founders on US market entry strategy, enterprise sales, and fundraising from US institutional investors. Deliveroo, the UK food delivery platform that completed an IPO on the London Stock Exchange in 2021 and was subsequently acquired by DoorDash, was backed by Hoxton at an early stage. Babylon Health, the UK AI-powered digital health company, is a portfolio company. Darktrace, the UK AI cybersecurity company that completed an IPO on the London Stock Exchange in 2021, was backed by Hoxton. Beyond its original investments in Deliveroo, Babylon Health, and Darktrace, the portfolio includes additional European technology companies across consumer, enterprise, and health sectors.
