HV Capital is a Munich-based venture capital firm founded in approximately 2000, formerly known as Holtzbrinck Ventures, that is one of the most established and highest-performing European venture capital investors with a track record spanning two decades and a portfolio that includes some of the most significant European consumer and technology companies of the past twenty years. The firm invests from seed through Series B stages with initial checks from $5 million to $30 million across all technology sectors including consumer internet, fintech, enterprise software, logistics, and health technology, with a particular historical strength in backing German-headquartered consumer technology companies before they achieved global scale. Zalando, the German online fashion and lifestyle platform that is publicly listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and has grown to a market capitalization of several billion euros, was an early HV Capital portfolio company. Delivery Hero, the German food delivery and quick-commerce platform that is listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and has operated across dozens of countries, was backed by HV Capital at early stages. HelloFresh, the German meal kit delivery company that completed an IPO on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and reached a market capitalization of over $10 billion at its peak, was a portfolio company. FlixBus, the German intercity bus network that became Europe's largest long-distance mobility provider, was also backed by HV Capital. Beyond its original investments in Zalando, Delivery Hero, HelloFresh, and FlixBus, the portfolio includes additional European technology companies.
