Index Ventures is a London and San Francisco-based venture capital firm founded in 1996, one of the most consistently high-performing and globally active venture capital firms in technology, with a thirty-year track record spanning consumer internet, enterprise software, fintech, gaming, and health technology that includes some of the most significant technology companies built in Europe and the United States. The firm manages approximately €30 billion in assets under management across multiple fund vehicles and offices in London, San Francisco, Geneva, and New York, investing from seed through growth stages with initial checks from $2 million to $15 million. Index is notable for its early conviction in European technology companies that went on to achieve US-equivalent scale, which has shaped the firm's view that the geographic origin of a company is far less important than the quality of the founding team and the size of the market opportunity. Figma, the collaborative design platform, was backed by Index at a very early stage and subsequently completed an IPO. Notion, the all-in-one workspace platform, is an Index portfolio company.
