About

Kaszek Ventures

Kaszek is a Buenos Aires-founded venture capital firm established in 2011 by Hernan Kazah, co-founder and former COO and CFO of MercadoLibre, and Nicolas Szekasy, MercadoLibre's former CFO, who combined their surnames to name what has grown into Latin America's most prominent and consistently high-returning early-stage venture capital firm, managing more than $2 billion across seven successive fund vehicles. Kaszek invests from seed through Series C stages with initial checks from $1 million to $15 million in technology companies across Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Argentina, and the broader Latin American market. The firm first invested in Nubank when it was merely a PowerPoint presentation by founder David Vélez; Nubank completed a NYSE IPO in 2021. Kavak, the Latin American online used car marketplace, was backed by Kaszek. Creditas, the Brazilian fintech, received early Kaszek investment. QuintoAndar, the Brazilian proptech, is a portfolio company. Auth0 was acquired by Okta for $6.5 billion. Beyond its original investments, the portfolio includes Gympass (Wellhub), Loggi, Notco, Bitso, Konfio, and more than 120 additional companies.
