Kima Ventures is a Paris-based pre-seed and seed investment vehicle founded by Xavier Niel, the French billionaire founder of Iliad/Free and one of Europe's most significant technology entrepreneurs, and Jeremie Berrebi, operating as one of the highest-volume venture investors in Europe with a stated goal of making two new investments per week across all sectors and geographies. The firm invests fixed checks of approximately $150,000 per company at pre-seed and seed stages and has backed more than 1,000 startups since 2010. Portfolio companies include Algolia, the search-as-a-service API platform that has grown to a valuation of approximately $2.25 billion; Sunrise, the calendar application acquired by Microsoft in 2015; Front, the collaborative inbox platform; and PayFit, the French payroll and HR software platform.
