Launch Africa is a Port Louis, Mauritius-based pan-African seed venture capital fund focused on investing in technology startups across Sub-Saharan Africa, providing first institutional capital to founders building digital businesses in health technology, logistics, fintech, and agricultural technology. The fund is headquartered in Mauritius, which provides strategic advantages as a financial holding and investment jurisdiction for pan-African investments through its tax treaty network and institutional investor-friendly regulatory framework. Launch Africa invests with initial checks from $100,000 to $500,000 at seed and early stages, backing companies before they reach the ticket sizes required by larger pan-African funds. Portfolio companies include Omnibiz, the Nigerian B2B commerce platform enabling FMCG companies to distribute products through informal retailers; Verto, the B2B cross-border payments platform for African businesses; and Bizao, the pan-African payment gateway enabling digital payments across multiple African markets. Beyond its original investments, the portfolio includes additional pan-African technology companies.
