Lux Capital is a New York-based venture capital firm founded by Josh Wolfe and Peter Hébert, focused on early-stage investments in emergent science and technology companies at the frontier of artificial intelligence, biotechnology, materials science, robotics, space technology, and other disciplines where genuine scientific breakthroughs are being commercialized. The firm manages more than $4 billion in assets under management and invests from seed through Series B stages with initial checks from $3 million to $15 million. Ginkgo Bioworks, the biological programming platform, completed a NYSE listing in 2021. Osmo, the AI company that has built a digital representation of the sense of smell, is a portfolio company. Nuro, the autonomous delivery vehicle company, is a Lux-backed business. Emerald Cloud Lab, the remote life science research platform, is a portfolio company.
