M13 is a Santa Monica-based seed and Series A venture capital firm focused on consumer technology and marketplace businesses, investing in companies building the next generation of consumer platforms, creator economy tools, and digital lifestyle services. The firm was co-founded by Carter Reum and Courtney Reum and invests with initial checks from $2 million to $10 million. Portfolio companies include Birchbox, the beauty subscription box service; ClassPass, the fitness class subscription platform acquired by Mindbody; Daily Harvest, the frozen organic food delivery service; and Lyft, the ride-sharing company. Beyond its original investments in Birchbox, ClassPass, Daily Harvest, and Lyft, the portfolio includes WHOOP and additional consumer technology companies.
