National Grid Partners is a San Jose-based corporate venture capital and innovation unit of National Grid plc, the UK and US regulated electricity and gas transmission and distribution company, investing in early and growth-stage technology companies developing innovations in grid modernization, energy management, distributed energy resources, and clean energy. The fund invests at Series A and Series B stages with initial checks from $2 million to $15 million. Portfolio companies include AutoGrid, the AI-powered energy flexibility management platform acquired by Uplight in 2022; Enbala Power Networks, the distributed energy resource management platform; Opus One Solutions, the grid management software company; and SparkCognition, the AI analytics and security platform. Beyond its original investments, the portfolio includes additional grid technology and clean energy companies.
