Planet A Ventures is a Berlin-based seed and Series A venture capital firm focused exclusively on deep technology climate companies, investing in founders developing breakthrough solutions to the climate crisis across alternative proteins, circular economy, sustainable chemistry, energy transition, and natural carbon removal. The firm was co-founded by Fridtjof Detzner, the co-founder of Jimdo, and others and invests with initial checks from $1 million to $5 million. Portfolio companies include Algrow, a microalgae production technology company; Circuly, the subscription and circular economy management platform; Planted, the Swiss company producing whole-cut plant-based meat products; and Traceless, the Hamburg-based company developing compostable bioplastic alternatives. Beyond its original investments in Algrow, Circuly, Planted, and Traceless, the portfolio includes additional deep technology climate companies.
