Portage Ventures

Portage Ventures is a Toronto-based fintech venture capital firm focused on Series A, Series B, and growth equity investments in financial technology companies across Canada and internationally. The firm was co-founded by Adam Felesky and Paul Desmarais III and is backed by Power Corporation of Canada, giving it access to a network of large Canadian financial institutions as potential commercial partners. Portage invests with initial checks from $3 million to $20 million. Portfolio companies include Wealthsimple, the Canadian digital investment and financial services company; League, the digital health benefits platform; Borrowell, the Canadian credit monitoring and lending marketplace; and Lending Loop, the Canadian small business lending platform. Beyond its original investments, the portfolio includes additional Canadian and global fintech and insurtech companies.
