Quona Capital

Quona Capital is a Washington, DC-based fintech venture capital firm focused exclusively on emerging market financial inclusion companies, investing in Series A and Series B stage fintech companies in Latin America, Africa, India, and Southeast Asia that are using technology to expand access to financial services for underbanked consumers and small businesses. The firm was co-founded by Monica Brand Engel and Jonathan Whittle and invests with initial checks from $2 million to $10 million. Portfolio companies include Destacame, the Latin American open banking and credit intelligence platform; Konfio, the Mexican SME lending platform; Lendo, a financial services company; and Minu, the earned wage access platform for Mexican workers. Beyond its original investments, the portfolio includes additional emerging market fintech companies.
