RRE Ventures is a New York-based seed and Series A through Series B venture capital firm founded in 1994 by James Robinson IV and Stuart Ellman, one of the longest-running and most established New York-based technology venture capital firms with a track record spanning more than three decades. The firm invests with initial checks from $500,000 to $3 million across consumer internet, enterprise software, fintech, and media technology companies. Betaworks, the New York-based technology studio, is a portfolio company. BuzzFeed, the digital media company, was a portfolio company. Venmo, the peer-to-peer payments application, was backed by RRE before its acquisition by PayPal. Zola, the modern wedding planning and registry platform, is a portfolio company.
