Sapphire Ventures

Sapphire Ventures is a Menlo Park-based Series B and growth equity venture capital firm focused on enterprise software, SaaS, and business technology companies, managing approximately $10 billion in assets and investing with initial checks from $10 million to $75 million. The firm was formerly the venture arm of SAP before becoming independent in 2011, retaining SAP's enterprise customer relationships as a strategic advantage. AppDynamics, the application performance management platform, was acquired by Cisco for $3.7 billion in 2017. Cloudera, the enterprise data cloud company, was backed by Sapphire before completing a NYSE IPO. MobileIron, the enterprise mobility management company, was a portfolio company. Square was backed by Sapphire. Beyond its original investments in AppDynamics, Cloudera, MobileIron, and Square, the portfolio includes Domo, Qualtrics, and additional enterprise software companies.
