Savannah Fund

Savannah Fund is a Nairobi-based seed and early Series A venture capital firm focused on technology companies across East Africa, particularly Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, and Ethiopia. The firm was founded by Mbwana Alliy and Paul Baumgarten and invests with initial checks from $100,000 to $500,000. Portfolio companies include Ebanqo, the customer messaging and chatbot platform for African financial services; Kubik, the company converting plastic waste into affordable construction materials; Sendy, the logistics and delivery platform for East African businesses; and Afropolitan, the digital community and financial services platform for the African diaspora. Beyond its original investments, the portfolio includes additional East African technology companies.
