Shield Capital is a San Francisco-based seed and Series A venture capital firm focused on cybersecurity and national security technology companies, investing in founders with deep government, intelligence, and military backgrounds who are building dual-use security technologies. The firm invests with initial checks from $1 million to $5 million and is backed by Lockheed Martin Ventures and other strategic defence investors. Portfolio companies include Anduril Industries, the defence technology company (primarily backed by Andreessen Horowitz, Founders Fund, and others; Shield Capital's specific role should be independently verified); Cyberhaven, the data lineage and insider threat detection platform; Shift5, the operational technology and vehicle cybersecurity company; and SpiderOak, the zero-knowledge encrypted collaboration platform.
