Sofinnova Investments is a Menlo Park-based life sciences venture capital firm that is the US affiliate of Sofinnova Partners, the Paris-based European life sciences VC, investing in clinical-stage biopharmaceutical companies in the United States and globally. The firm invests at Series A, Series B, and growth stages with initial checks from $5 million to $25 million. Portfolio companies include Aratana Therapeutics, the companion animal health company; Argenx, the Dutch biopharmaceutical company developing antibody-based treatments for autoimmune diseases; Arcus Biosciences, the clinical-stage oncology immunotherapy company; and Blueprint Medicines, the precision therapy company. Beyond its original investments, the portfolio includes additional clinical-stage US biopharmaceutical companies.
