Uncork Capital, formerly known as SoftTech VC, is a San Francisco-based seed venture capital firm founded by Jeff Clavier in 2004, one of the earliest and most prolific seed-stage investors in Silicon Valley. The firm invests with initial checks from $500,000 to $2 million. Portfolio companies include Eventbrite, the event management and ticketing platform that completed a Nasdaq IPO in 2018; FitBit, the wearable fitness tracking device company (True Ventures was a primary early backer; Uncork's specific role should be verified); Wanelo, the social commerce shopping platform; and Zendesk, the customer service software platform (Matrix Partners was a primary backer; Uncork's role should be verified). Beyond its original investments, the portfolio includes hundreds of additional consumer and enterprise technology companies.
