Venrock

Venrock is a Palo Alto-based venture capital firm founded in 1969 as the formalization of the Rockefeller family's private technology investing activities, one of the oldest continuously operating venture capital firms in Silicon Valley with a portfolio spanning more than five decades. The firm invests from seed through Series B stages with initial checks from $5 million to $25 million. Illumina, the genomics and DNA sequencing company, was a Venrock investment. Apple received Venrock investment at very early stages. Carbon Health, the modern primary care technology company, is a portfolio company. Sana Biotechnology, the gene therapy and cell engineering company, is a portfolio company. Beyond its original investments, the portfolio includes dozens of additional healthcare, life science, and technology companies.
