Westlake Village BioPartners is a Westlake Village, California-based seed, Series A, and Series B life sciences venture capital firm, founded by David Hung, the oncologist and former CEO of Medivation who led the development of enzalutamide before its $9.4 billion acquisition by Pfizer in 2016. The firm invests with initial checks from $5 million to $25 million. Portfolio companies include Abdera Therapeutics, the clinical-stage company developing targeted alpha therapies for cancer; Ampel BioSolutions, a computational biology company; Boundless Bio, the clinical-stage oncology company; and Passage Bio, the gene therapy company that completed a Nasdaq IPO. Beyond its original investments, the portfolio includes additional early-stage biopharmaceutical companies.
